Head of Finance - Uxbridge - Global Logistics & Distribution

Salary C: to 100K to 130K Base (DOE) inclusive of Car Allowance , Bonus & Benefits

Our Client is a Large Organisation within the International Express Distribution sector

Accountable for the production and communication to the senior management team of timely and accurate financial information, to manage the company’s cash flows and to provide financial and commercial support and advice to the team in managing and growing the business.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Seamless management of the Financial and Administration Departments including payroll, creditors, efficient operations and function of the POD and claims department.
  • Cash management.
  • Debtors including to ensure accurate billing, completeness of revenue and accurate debtors’ statements.
  • Financial accounting functions.
  • All financial procedures - budgeting process, accounting function and full financial reporting.
  • Approval, analysis and timely distribution of accurate monthly and quarterly management accounts and statutory reporting to Group Head Office.
  • Manage the internal audit process and ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Apply appropriate budgeting and forecasting tools.
  • Ability to assess and implement appropriate Financial systems.
  • Performance, feasibility and due diligence assessments when required.
  • Ability to compile and implement financial policies, procedures and processes
  • Engage and induct suitably qualified and competent staff.

Main KPi’s include Cash Flow, Achievement of EBITDA and margin targets, Management Accounts, Financial statements and reports and AFS, 12 Month rolling forecasts with assumptions, Budgets

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or similar)
  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant working experience in managing a Finance department
  • The ability to professionally manage, motivate & display individual leadership qualities with at least 5 years’ experience managing a team
  • Excellent Commercial and Financial acumen.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of Budgeting and Forecasting processes
  • Good taxation knowledge (income tax, PAYE and VAT) including legislation in neighbouring countries.
  • Good understanding of Imports and Exports, customs and duties
  • Proven experience in having implemented a financial system
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate at a senior level and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good planning and organising skills.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills at advanced level
  • Extensive knowledge of the Courier / Freight Industry.
  • Excellent delegation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Project Management capabilities.
  • Strategic Leadership capabilities.
