Safety Valve & HND Finance Business Partner

Uxbridge

Designated Schools Grant, Safety Valve Finance Business Partner role is pivotal in managing the financial aspects of the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) Safety Valve programme, ensuring robust financial management and reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to support the delivery of financial strategies and savings targets within the DSG High Needs budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Thoroughly understand and manage the DSG High Needs budget and Safety Valve programme.

Perform detailed savings calculations and update the Safety Valve model regularly.

Conduct regular reporting and forecasting for the Safety Valve and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) programmes.

Act as the lead for all SEND and Safety Valve finance-related queries and reports, presenting findings at Senior Management Team (SMT) meetings.

Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.

Provide high-quality financial advice to Corporate Directors, Heads of Service, and budget managers.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar finance business partner role, preferably within a local government or public sector setting. In-depth understanding of the DSG High Needs budget monitoring and SEND funding mechanisms. Experience with the Safety Valve programme or similar financial recovery initiatives is essential within a public sector organisation.
