RT25 - Course Team Leader - MediaLocation: UxbridgeSalary: £27,557 - £32,580 Per AnnumOverview:First Military Recruitment are on the lookout for a Course Team Leader on behalf of one of our high profile clients. You will be responsible for curriculum management and teach across a range of UAL Media programmes from Level 1 to Level 3. You would also take the role of Lead Internal Verifier and provide leadership for a team of Lecturers.You will need to possess a degree in the relevant subject area, a level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (PGCE, DET or equivalent) or be willing to work towards this, and have successful teaching experience within an FE environment, including experience of marking and assessment. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Part time role covering 25.2 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
  • To lead the Media curriculum in conjunction with the area’s Section Manager.
  • To contribute to the development, planning and implementation of new initiatives within the section.
  • To assist in the monitoring and supervision of all part-time teaching and non-teaching staff to ensure they are kept informed of all college and curriculum developments.
  • To lead course team meetings and contribute to section area meetings.
  • To participate fully in the marketing of courses and promotional events both on and off site.
  • To assist in the updating of statistical information required for attendance, retention and achievement.
  • To take effective links with any relevant outside agencies to both secure student growth and progression.
  • To take an active role in the reviewing of curriculum and quality procedures.
  • To contribute to and monitor the deployment of resources, physical and human, within the department.
  • To contribute to the general development of the Section.
  • To take the lead in internal verification and standardisation activities to ensure the rigour is met in line with UAL specifications.
  • Participate in open evenings and recruitment activities to ensure that potential applicants and students receive accurate information and guidance.
  • Complete and contribute to the production of accurate information and fact sheets.
  • Interview potential applicants and contribute to the College’s interviewing schedules.
  • Contribute to the development, promotion and delivery of the team’s marketing and recruitment strategies.
  • To teach on either level 2 or level 3 of the UAL Diploma in Media courses.
  • To comply with all relevant Health and Safety regulations and assist the College in the implementation of its own Health and Safety policy and Safeguarding Policy.
  • To comply with and actively promote within their section the College’s Equality and Diversity Policy.
  • Understand and comply with Safeguarding legislation and ensure that best practice is embedded in all working practices as required.
  • Commitment to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, ensuring that this commitment is demonstrated in all aspects of the role as appropriate.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • A relevant Creative Arts / Media degree.
  • Minimum Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector e.g. PGCE, DET or willing to achieve this, supported by the College.
  • Successful teaching experience gained in Further Education, including experience of marking and assessing.
  • Experience of delivering UAL Diploma programmes.
  • Experience in managing course level quality assurance.
  • Experience of team working and preferably some experience of leading/supervising a team.
  • Relevant industry experience.
  • High level Apple Mac & PC platform IT skills.
  • The ability to enthuse and inspire young learners.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Good classroom practice.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
