We are inviting applications for the role of English Lecturer, responsible for delivering GCSE and Functional Skills English. This role is pivotal in supporting vocational learners aged 16-18, as well as a growing number of part-time adult learners, to develop their skills and progress in their educational or career paths.

Day-to-day of the role of a English Lecturer:

  • Deliver engaging and effective GCSE and Functional Skills English lessons to vocational learners and adult learners.
  • Develop and adapt teaching materials to meet the needs of learners with varying levels of ability.
  • Assess, monitor, support and record learner progress.
  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum within the College.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and strategies for engaging and motivating resit learners.
  • Participate in continuous professional development activities to enhance teaching practice and learner outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications for Maths Lecturer position:

  • A degree in English or a related subject is preferable.
  • Experience in teaching or tutoring English GCSE and/or Functional Skills.
  • Strong ability to engage and enthuse learners aged 16 to 18 from various vocational disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and improvement of teaching practices.
