We are seeking an English Lecturer to join our Further Education college in West London. This role involves teaching GCSE and Functional Skills English, with a primary focus on delivering high-quality education and fostering a positive learning environment. The position offers a flexible schedule with teaching commitments on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and potential for additional hours as general cover.
Day-to-day of the role:- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in GCSE and Functional Skills English to diverse groups of students.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments in line with curriculum requirements.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure academic development.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports students’ educational and personal growth.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching strategies and curriculum development.
- Be available for additional teaching hours for general cover on other days as needed.
- A recognised teaching qualification in English or a related field.
- Experience teaching GCSE and Functional Skills English.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students from various backgrounds.
