- Report directly to the Managing Director, collaborating closely with all departments and senior management.
- Manage supplier relationships to drive cost savings and ensure products meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
- Maintain accurate pricing and supplier data and establish contingency plans for key suppliers.
- Monitor stock levels, plan for replacements, and manage inventory and surplus stock.
- Regularly review suppliers, resolve invoice queries with Accounts Payable, and liaise with the warehouse team for regular stock checks.
- Manage supplier innovation activities, assist in resolving non-conformities, and expedite orders or chase late deliveries.
- Visit UK suppliers and trade shows as required, create purchase orders, and monitor deliveries.
- Maintain product specifications and conformity, advise on new products, and communicate product information across teams.
- Negotiate prices, ensure timely product delivery, and maintain relationships with existing suppliers while seeking new ones that align with our ethical, environmental, and regulatory policies.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
- Previous purchasing administration experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel across the UK; valid UK Driving License required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Methodical thinking, well-organised, committed, and good timekeeping.
- Ability to work with urgency, as a team member, and with minimal supervision.
