A renowned Aerospace and Defense organisation requires a First Quality Inspector to join their Inspection Team in the Uxbridge, Middlesex (West London).
The Quality Assurance Inspector will plan the First Article Inspection requirements for a seat programme within QPM (FAIR Software System). Completing First Article Inspections and reports for top-level part assembly seats and deliverable items.
Key Responsibilities - First Article Inspector
- Plan and conduct First Article Inspection activities within the organisation for customer deliverables.
- Review and ensure that completed FAI’s meet the QAI-148 / AS9102 standard requirements, buy off the reports and archive them.
- Assist the improvement of the effectiveness of the First Article Inspection processes to meet or exceed QAI-148 and AS9102 standards.
- Create / maintain business procedure, process, and reporting systems for First Article Inspection activities.
- Ensure that the standard of the First Article Inspection reports is to the level required too present to customers.
- Support the Inspection management team to deliver FAI reports on time and in full to customers deadlines.
- Use relevant software to undertake any Inspection improvements or data recording opportunities.
Skills and Experience - First Article Inspector
- General work background in manufacturing / engineering.
- Inspection experience and a good understanding of the application of the AS9102 First Article Inspection process.
- Broad experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and use of 2 and 3-D images.
- Experience in using inspection tools and equipment.
- Good Computer skills, able to use Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with Qpulse QPM software and SAP or equivalent systems
