Office Manager

Uxbridge, in-office

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and driven Office Manager to join a well-established organisation.

Our client is a not-for-profit financial institution, whose goal is to give back to the local community by providing ethical finance to those in need. Established for over 30 years, they serve people who live and work in west London.

They’re looking for an Office Manager to work part-time hours (9am - 2pm) as maternity cover for 1 year, to manage the 3 other members of staff along with a variety of tasks & responsibilities, ranging from credit control to customer service to banking to ICT systems.

The ideal candidate would be somebody who has experience managing an office, small team, or multiple office functions, and above all else who is adaptable, eager to learn, and who has the ability to use their initiative. The role

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Reviewing loan applications, completing all checks, and obtaining all info required within loan policy
  • Promoting awareness of financial exclusion issues within the community
  • Line managing 3 core staff and collaborating with another 3 from the wider organisation
  • Delivering quality services to the organisation’s members and develop new services based on their needs
  • Operate the organisation’s accounting system and manual records
  • Managing the day-to-day banking
  • Developing and maintaining operating procedures
  • Managing ICT systems
  • Ensuring legal & regulatory compliance
  • Building relationships with members so that they can help them when they have difficulties in repaying loans, working alongside debt collection agencies, and managing the wider credit control function

The Person

Essential

  • Experience in similar role - office manager, credit controller, underwriter, etc…
  • Experience doing at least 50% of the above tasks
  • Adaptable, willing to learn, and able to use initiative
  • A good verbal & written communicator

Desirable

  • Specific office management experience
  • Line management experience
  • Credit control experience
  • Experience in a financial services organisation
  • Not-for-profit experience

Nice-to-have

  • Not-for-profit experience
