An exciting opportunity awaits at our small independent special school in Uxbridge. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary Teacher with expertise in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly Autism, to join our committed team on a temp-to-perm or permanent basis.
As a Primary Teacher specialised in SEND, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to children who require additional assistance to address their social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, with a primary focus on Autism. Your responsibilities will include delivering engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum, while fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement personalised lesson plans to meet the unique needs of primary-aged students with SEND, predominantly Autism.
- Cultivate a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes social and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate closely with our dedicated staff team to provide effective support and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Employ proven behaviour management strategies to facilitate an optimal learning environment for all primary students.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to contribute to the overall success of the school.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with specialised experience in teaching children with SEND, particularly Autism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
- Adaptability in teaching methodologies to meet the diverse needs of individual primary students.
- Dedication to fostering a positive and nurturing educational environment.
