Member Services Advisor

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and driven Member Services Advisor to join a well-established organisation.

Our client is a not-for-profit financial institution, whose goal is to give back to the local community by providing ethical finance to those in need. Established for over 30 years, they serve people who live and work in west London.

They’re looking for a new Member Services Advisor to work part-time hours (9am - 2pm) on a permanent basis, to be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, ranging from credit control to customer service to banking to administration.

The ideal candidate would be somebody who has experience working in an office environment, preferrable (but not essentially) in a financial services organisation, and who is adaptable, eager to learn, and who has the ability to use their initiative. The role

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Delivering quality telephone and email customer service to the organisation’s members
  • Building relationships with members so that they can help them when they have difficulties in repaying loans, working alongside debt collection agencies, and performing the wider credit control function
  • Operate the organisation’s accounting system and manual records
  • Day-to-day banking
  • Developing and maintaining operating procedures
  • General administration and working with the ICT systems

The Person

Essential

  • Experience in similar role - office administrator, credit controller, etc…
  • Experience doing the majority of the above tasks
  • Adaptable, willing to learn, and able to use initiative
  • A good verbal & written communicator

Desirable

  • Experience in a financial services organisation
  • Credit control experience

Nice-to-have

  • Not-for-profit experience
