Materials BuyerCirca 36kHarefield I am delighted to be working with one of my favourite clients once again. They are now seeking a Materials Buyer/Estimator to join their smashing team. This role would be suitable for someone who has about 1-2buying experience.Full additional support and training will be given on the job, and you will also be going out with the surveying team to visit sites where building is about to take place. Standards here are exceptionally high (they deal with a wealthy and upmarket client) so not only will you need the commercial buying skills, but you will also be exceptionally client centric and driven by excellence. This role will be office based, parking is available on site and working hours are 8-5pm.
Duties
- To ensure plant and materials are purchased/hired and delivered to site on timer
- Constant price checking and correct purchasing volumes
- Provide quotes and costing information
- Managing all buying paperwork and administration
- Maintain plant hire list
- Make utility applications
- Assist with annual stock take
- Maintain good working relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers
- Buying to preset budgets
Person needed
- Buying experience (from the construction sector would be ideal)
- Highly numerate
- Exceptional verbal and written skills
- Good geographical knowledge
- Eager to learn and develop and ask questions
- Contractor experience desirable
- Strong customer focus
