An exciting Sourcing Account Manager (Indirect Manufacturing Purchasing) responsible for the procurement of Manufacturing goods and services related to NPD - New Product Development has become available with a market leading Engineering / Manufacturing / Automotive company based in Uxbridge.

Key aspects of the role include strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, vendor management, and ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines. The Sourcing Account Manager (Indirect Manfuacturing) will collaborate with various internal departments and colleagues to identify sourcing requirements, streamline processes, and enhance operational efficiencies.

You must possess experience with sourcing / procurement Manufacturing goods such as: machinery, tools, calibration etc Previous experience in any of these manufacturing sectors - automative, medical, defence, healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, construction.

The role is hybrid working - 3 days in the Uxbridge office and 2 days homeworking / week.

Key responsibilities - Sourcing / Procurement Account Manager (Indirect Manufacturing Purchasing)

  • Provide the primary point of contact for suppliers in the organization and manage allocated supplier relationships to ensure that supply of manufacturing products, services and or material is delivered in accordance with contractual terms and Business need.
  • Manage purchase requisitions and Capex in accordance with standard operating procedures and delegated authorities including all sourcing activities, assisting in creation of scope & specifications, carrying out due diligence and managing contract with suppliers.
  • Ensure performance against key KPI’s (Quality, Cost, Delivery) and proactively identify and manage any risks that may impact the organisation. Continuously look for, and implement, improvements in internal business process which will have a beneficial impact on KPI’s.
  • With the relevant commodity manager, actively develop, gain agreement to and roll-out the appropriate Commodity Strategy to ensure all functions work from an agreed Preferred Supplier List.
  • Identify and engage with new suppliers via tendering RFx exercises, using MBA e-sourcing tool. As required support customer meetings, bids and reviews in respect of supply chain strategy and any issues affecting ability to deliver.
  • Actively work with internal functions, to understand their procurement needs and provide solutions. Ensuring that product, services and materials are supplied to the technical and quality standards required.
  • In conjunction with the Commodity Managers research and evaluate new suppliers and technologies.
  • Monitor the external environment and keep an up-to-date knowledge of competitors and supplier capacity and capability.
  • Identification of risks within suppliers e.g. obsolescence of materials and parts, or changes in ownership that may impact the organisation. Support the senior team to develop risk mitigations and corrective actions plans.
  • Generation and maintenance of supplier data in Medius & SAP - cost, master data, transactions etc. to support financial and governance process.
  • Comply with all Sourcing policies & processes

Skills & experience - Sourcing / Procurement Account Manager (Indirect Manufacturing Purchasing)

  • Extensive (5 years +) sourcing / procurement / purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment involving New Product Development NPD.
  • Experience within a Manufacturing environment - Engineering, Automotive, Defence, Construction, Medical, Healthcare.
  • Extensive sourcing experience across manufacturing machinery, tools, calibration and inspection.
  • Proven project management experience with longer-term project timescales.
  • Excellent Influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills with colleagues and suppliers.
