Our client is seeking a skilled Sewing Machinist to join our production team, this role requires precision and a keen eye for detail, utilising technical drawings and industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality textile components.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Cut and mark fabric using appropriate tools, preparing workstations and organising workloads for efficient workflow.
  • Ensure sewing machines are in full working order and materials are prepared for use.
  • Follow technical drawings and build plans to assemble and stitch fabric and webbing parts, ensuring all components meet specified requirements.
  • Operate various specialist industrial sewing machines such as Walking Foot, Adler, Overlock, Post, and CNC.
  • Conduct inspections of materials and finished products to maintain quality standards, reporting any deviations or non-conformances to the manager.
  • Maintain accurate work records and documentation, tracking the progress of components through the manufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a productive work environment, sharing expertise and assisting in the training of new employees.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Sewing Machinist in a similar industrial production environment.
  • Familiarity with different types of industrial sewing machines and the ability to operate them effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and follow standard operating procedures accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
