London Borough of Hillingdon is seeking an experienced and driven Head of Commissioning to lead our Adults Social Care Commissioning Team. About the Role:

As Head of Commissioning (ASC&H), you will be pivotal in implementing Hillingdon’s Commissioning Strategy, ensuring the successful delivery of a robust and effective commissioning model. You will lead and manage the Adults Social Care Commissioning Team, fostering a culture of excellence and ensuring that our residents are at the heart of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a commissioning strategy that promotes health and wellbeing, strengthens early intervention and prevention, and delivers improved outcomes for all residents.
  • Team Management: Lead, manage, and motivate the Adults Social Care Commissioning Team, ensuring agreed team plans and performance targets are met.
  • Market Development: Develop and enhance a diverse and sustainable care market, working closely with partners and providers to deliver high-quality, innovative social care solutions.
  • Resident-Centred Approach: Ensure residents have access to a range of strength-based services, information, advice, and guidance, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care and support.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Corporate Management Team, Cabinet members, health partners, and the voluntary sector.
  • Innovation and Technology: Drive innovation and embrace digital technology to enhance service delivery and improve resident outcomes.
  • Performance and Quality: Monitor and evaluate the performance of commissioned services, ensuring quality standards are met and continuous improvement is achieved.
  • Promote Independence: Ensure that commissioned services promote independence and wellbeing, empowering residents to live fulfilling lives.
