Job Title: Service Manager, Supported Living

As the Service Manager you have responsibility for managing several services and on-site teams and being responsible for ensuring that the operation operates effectively and ensuring delivery of the very best quality, person centred care.

Key Features of the Role:

  • Ensure the delivery of quality care - continually assessing our residents’ needs and wishes and developing the service to enhance their quality of life.
  • Direct staff management and ensuring the smooth running of the care home.
  • Take on accountability for the home - ensuring compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements; striving to achieve the best possible care rating and other external recognition of quality.
  • Ensure the safeguarding of service users and delivering optimum levels of care and support.
  • Manage the financial effectiveness of the home - maintain the budget of the home and seek to identify opportunities to increase profitability and reduce cost.
  • Take on an active leadership role - you will need to be a visible leader in the home supporting the operation of a twenty four hour business.
  • Work with the operational support team to organise rota’s and ensure effective fulfilment of shifts.
  • Developing your people - you will have the opportunity to build your team, supported by a centralised recruitment and training team, who will be recruiting and developing the right people for you to grow your business and through supporting their career development.
  • Facilities & Property management of a state of the art care facility and ensuring the smooth day to day running of the home.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience of working in a care management role within Supported Living (LD) /Residential Care
  • Highly driven, self-motivated and able to multi-task
  • Managing teams/people and the ability to delegate tasks and performance manage/coach/mentor staff;
  • Ideally hold a Registered Managers Award - NVQ level 4/5 in Health & Social Care or equivalent and have or be willing to work towards the Leadership and Management Award
  • Experienced with safeguarding and managing safeguarding cases.
  • Flexible and agile approach to work, with the ability to lead from the frontline
  • Strong experience within Learning Disabilities
  • Knowledge/Experience of Positive Behavioural Support implementation would be highly desirable.
  • Well versed with CQC guidelines and a proven track record of delivering positive CQC ratings in previous roles.
  • Experienced with internal/external audits
  • Well organised and able to inspire confidence and trust in others.
  • Must be a car driver and car owner.
