Procurement Manager

We are seeking a Procurement Manager to join our clients Procurement Team with a focus on Estates and Facilities categories. The role involves formal tendering, leveraging frameworks, and contributing to the implementation of the organisation’s Procurement Strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, particularly within the public sector, and be adept at stakeholder management and project prioritisation.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Take responsibility for formal tendering and purchasing for assigned categories.
  • Develop market knowledge and apply this to understand customer requirements, identifying opportunities for innovation and savings.
  • Utilise commercial intelligence to execute category opportunities.
  • Manage customer relationships to drive efficiencies and establish communication plans with key stakeholders.
  • Lead on Supplier Relationship & Contract Management, including performance improvement and savings initiatives.
  • Interface with Trade Associations and industry forums as appropriate.
  • Maintain up-to-date contract registers and provide expert procurement advice.
  • Ensure compliance with Public Contract Regulations and adhere to best practices.
  • Analyse spend data to inform future procurement strategies and manage relationships with service providers to ensure value for money.
  • Mentor team members and prioritise workload to achieve team goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate accounting records.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Public Sector Experience.
  • Proven experience in managing end-to-end tenders.
  • Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2024 or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise workload.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Not solely a strategist but someone who can progress with minimal supervision.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanour to effectively engage with stakeholders.
