A world leading manufacturing and aerospace organisation located in Uxbridge, West London require an Account Manager (Purchasing / Procurement Manager) within the Direct Sourcing department.

Key Responsibilities - Account Manager - Purchasing / Procurement Manager - Direct Sourcing

  • Sourcing and purchasing components, products and materials for parts that are made internally or parts for machines, in accordance with organisational manufacturing and planned objectives.
  • Work alongside counterparts across production planning, engineering, quality and programme management functions to acquire products on time and delivered in accordance with contractual terms and production schedules, quality standards and at price levels.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers, managing allocated supplier relationships including performance against KPI indicators.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks
  • Identify new suppliers via tendering, RFI and RFQ exercises.
  • Support colleagues from production engineering and programmes to develop Statement of Work requirements for the new supply of parts and equipment, working in conjunction with Commodity Managers to research and evaluate suppliers.
  • Support customer meetings, bids and reviews of supply chain strategy; preparing and authorising purchase requisitions; running data analysis to support process management, investigate trends and maintain supplier data within SAP; ensuring compliance with UK / international export controls; and participating with cross-functional continuous improvement projects and organisation.
  • Build winning relationships with suppliers to identify bottlenecks, problems and solutions in the supply chain working with suppliers and internal teams to ensure that customer deliveries are met.

Skills & Experience

  • Sourcing experience supporting a production environment and familiar with supply chain processes.
  • Experience in sourcing raw materials is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal, networking and relationship building skills with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of SAP or related MRP/ERP systems and import/export requirements.
  • Desirable - experience of understanding engineering drawings, manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Advantageous - experience in finding and agreeing supplier terms and purchasing goods and/or services with external suppliers.
