The Role of Contracts Manager
As a Contracts Manager,
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will ensure the efficient running of the contracts by effectively managing programming, commercial aspects and all resources associated with the projects, and to ensure that a quality service is provided to the customer.
Key Responsibilities of Contracts Manager
- Manage and oversee the negotiation, execution, and administration of contracts.
- Ensure all contractual obligations are met, including compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and site teams to monitor progress and resolve contractual issues.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide expert advice on contractual matters, claims, and dispute resolution.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure cost control and financial performance are aligned with project objectives.
- Lead contract reviews and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
Requirements of Contracts manager
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement processes, and construction regulations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office.
- Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Law, or a related field (e.g., RICS, CIOB, or equivalent).
- Some hybrid working after probation
