Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to kick-start their career in swimming pool maintenance and installation. As a Trainee Swimming Pool Maintenance Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers, learning how to maintain, install, and repair swimming pools, pumps, saunas, and hot tubs.

No prior experience in swimming pool maintenance is required, but a basic understanding of plumbing, general building work, or similar trades will be advantageous. A full clen driving licence is required

Key Responsibilities

  • On-the-Job Training:
    • Work alongside senior engineers to learn all aspects of swimming pool maintenance and installation.
    • Gain hands-on experience in the use of tools, equipment, and materials used in the industry.
  • Maintenance & Repairs:
    • Assist with regular maintenance tasks, including cleaning, water treatment, and equipment servicing.
    • Help diagnose and repair faults in pumps, filters, and other pool equipment under supervision.
  • Installation Projects:
    • Support the installation of swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas, and associated systems.
    • Assist in setting up plumbing and electrical systems for pools and wellness equipment.
  • Water Quality Management:
    • Learn how to test and balance water chemistry to ensure safe and hygienic conditions.
    • Assist in troubleshooting water quality issues.
  • Customer Support:
    • Shadow experienced engineers during client visits to understand customer interaction and service delivery.
    • Provide basic advice to clients on pool care and maintenance under guidance.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Basic understanding of plumbing, general building work, or similar trades.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills in swimming pool maintenance and installation.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual work in various environments.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Full UK driving license (or applicable license based on location) or willingness to work towards obtaining one.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a trade or technical role (e.g., plumbing, construction, or maintenance).
  • An interest in swimming pools, wellness equipment, or mechanical systems.
