Financial Controller Location: Wakefield Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + Bonus & Benefits + Agile working  Elevation Senior Finance is currently looking to recruit a Financial Controller in Wakefield on behalf of an acquisitive service-based business This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity within a fast-paced manufacturing business. You will be working closely with senior management to increase the company’s efficiency and profitability by assisting with the formulation of both the medium and long-term financial plan and a crucial link between finance and the wider business. Producing the month and yearly results, whilst ensuring the senior leadership team receives value-adding management reports and support which drive decision-making. Key duties and responsibilities will include: • Building strong working relationships throughout the organisation • Leadership of the finance team, staff mentoring/ training/ personal development and building resilience through role-sharing and succession planning • Continuous improvement of an effective control environment to manage financial, operational and business risks • Monthly management reporting, providing insightful business performance analysis to the management team and Board • Lead the business planning process, including annual budgeting and regular reiteration of projections, adopting a collaborative approach ensuring this accurately reflects operational assumptions and the group’s strategic objectives • Cashflow management comprising short-term forecasting and longer-term projections • Improve the communication and sharing of financial information across the group and its operational leaders • Business partnering, attending operational meetings and working closely with senior management • Liaison with contacts from overseas subsidiaries • Maintain excellent relationships with external stakeholders • Provide advice and guidance to colleagues and management teams • Oversight of monthly, quarterly and annual tax compliance matters • Manage the annual statutory audit and corporation tax process for all group entities and the consolidation • Liaising with key stakeholders/finance providers The successful Financial Controller will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences: • Qualified ACA /CIMA/ACCA • Experience in leading, mentoring and developing a finance team • A team player, leading by example, with the ability to bring out the best in others • Excellent presentation skills • Significant experience in management reporting and business planning in a group environment • Detail-oriented as well as seeing the bigger picture • Track record of managing and improving effective and controlled processes • Experience in business systems reviews and implementation • High energy levels, resilient, self-motivated, proactive AGILE WORKING IS OFFERED WITH THIS ROLE - 2 days in the office!!  Elevation Accountancy & Finance is a specialist division of Elevation Recruitment focusing on the recruitment of talented Accountancy and Finance professionals across all levels, from Ledger Clerks to Financial Directors in Yorkshire and surrounding regions.
