National Account ManagerWakefieldSalary - up to 65k + car/ 5k car allowanceHybrid/ flexible working/ Some national travel

Our client is looking for an experienced National Account Manager to join their team. The role will be working with key national grocery accounts and will be responsible for strategically managing and growing them.

You will maximise sales through analysis and range reviews, providing insight and recommendations with the aim of extending ranges and targeting new opportunities. You will act as the product expert for the ranges and provide a consultative approach to customers. You will be involved in product improvement initiatives and work closely with procurement and technical teams.

We are looking for someone with strong account management skills and experience of dealing with major grocer accounts. You will need to have excellent communication skills, negotiation, data analysis, and strong commercial acumen.

Duties include:

  • Strategically managing and growing accounts, working to achieve annual sales targets
  • Maximise sales from analysis, range reviews and range extensions
  • Analysing market data and providing recommendations and insight to the customer
  • Producing sales reporting, analysing data and feeding back to the business and clients
  • Looking at product improvement initiatives, working closely with procurement and technical colleagues to develop ideas
  • Developing new accounts and opportunities

Requirements:

  • Extensive Account Management experience, with experience working with top 4 UK grocers
  • Strong relationship building and consultative approach
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills and strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong Excel knowledge
  • Experience in pulling together high value tenders
  • Able to analyse trends and provide recommendations
  • FMCG - Health and Beauty desirable
