Pyramid8 are looking to recruit a legal cashier for a small niche law firm based in the town centre of Wakefield. This will be an independent role supported by the firm's two partners. Legal aid cashiering experience is essential, and also a good working knowledge of Solicitors' Accounts Rules required

This will be an office-based role, which can either be offered on a part-time basis, with flexible days and working hours, or on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) to include some additional administrative support functions within the practice and appropriate training would be provided.

As a Legal Cashier, you’ll play a vital role in managing the financial operations of the business, ensuring compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) rules and contributing to the smooth running of the firm’s accounts.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing daily transactions, including client and office accounts.
  • Reconciling bank accounts and preparing financial reports.
  • Processing payments, receipts, and transfers in compliance with SRA regulations.
  • Supporting the preparation of VAT returns.
  • Ensuring accurate record-keeping and assisting with audits.
  • Handling queries from clients and staff regarding financial matters.
  • General office administration support

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Cashier, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
  • A solid understanding of SRA Accounts Rules and compliance requirements.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
