Accelerate Teaching is dedicated to connecting exceptional professionals with schools that require their unique skills and experience. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Minibus Driver to join a Pupil Referral Unit in Wakefield, starting in September 2024.
The Role: As a Minibus Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of pupils to and from the Pupil Referral Unit. This position requires a responsible individual with a strong sense of duty and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport pupils to and from the Pupil Referral Unit, ensuring their well-being at all times.
- Maintain the minibus in a clean and roadworthy condition, conducting daily checks and reporting any issues promptly.
- Adhere to all school policies and procedures, particularly those related to health and safety.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents, fostering a supportive and respectful environment.
- Assist with the supervision of pupils during transit, ensuring their behaviour is managed effectively.
- Follow designated routes and schedules, maintaining punctuality and reliability.
About You: To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Proven experience as a Minibus Driver, ideally within an educational setting.
- A full, clean UK driving licence with a D1 category.
- Excellent driving skills with a strong awareness of road safety and regulations.
- The ability to manage and support young people, demonstrating patience and understanding.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
