We have a great opportunity for a Process laboratory technician who would like to be part of a large team working for a multinational global brand.

Our client manufactures, distributes, sells and markets some of the world's strongest brands in non-alcoholic beverages. It is a leading Western European marketer, distributor, and producer of bottles and can non-alcoholic refreshment.

Job title: Process lab technician

Job type: Temporary - ongoing

Pay rate: £14.55/ hour & increased to £16.17/hour after 12 weeks

Location: Wakefield (WF2 0XR)

Working hours: 3 on 3 off ( rotating days & nights)

Shift timings: 6.30am - 6.30pm and 6.30pm - 6.30am (rotational)

Responsibilities:

  • Performing quality checks include HPLC, Brix, tritrations
  • Collection of samples and plating for micro.
  • Record keeping
  • Testing is to be carried out accurately and in a timely manner and within tolerances to help meet production targets.
  • Escalate any anomalies to the team leader immediately.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned
  • You will ensure all relevant Laboratory safety, Chemical Awareness, and Food Safety Procedures are followed
  • Receiving bulk deliveries, reviewing paperwork, booking in and collecting intake samples.
  • Lab stock checks
  • You will ensure all relevant Quality and Health & Safety Procedures are followed

Skills & Essentials:

  • Experience working in a laboratory
  • Phys-chemical or micro background
  • Microbiology sampling and testing/counting experience/qualification
  • Must be able to work on their own initiative and as a part of the team
  • Must be able to work well under pressure of a busy manufacturing environment
  • GCSE Math's and English, or equivalent is required, as well as basic PC skills
