As the Senior Design Engineer, you will be joining our clients integrated team and lead the design of infra and non-infra projects on their Yorkshire Water Framework from outline design through to detailed design, construction and commissioning support. It is essential that the Senior Civil Engineer has worked on Yorkshire Water projects in the past.

Senior Civil Engineer Job Overview
  • Manage and coordinate internal and external activities related to civil and drainage design, ensuring compliance with client specifications and design standards.
  • Oversee the Design & Engineering Team, ensuring the successful delivery of design schemes, reviewing work for accuracy, and attending project meetings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining strong client relationships, managing project programming, commercial aspects, and audit presentations.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and apprentices while promoting professional development and innovation within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001, maintaining quality and environmental control procedures.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, design teams, and stakeholders, upholding company values and best practices on-site.
Senior Civil Engineer Job Requirements
  • Qualified Engineer, ideally chartered or a member of ICE or CEng.
  • Extensive civil design experience, including drainage, within the UK water sector.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Water Industry standards and Sewer Sector Guidance for drainage design.
  • Proficient in MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and Civils 3D, with BIM integration experience desirable.

Strong hydraulic design skills, with the ability to apply manual calculations when needed
