The Field Sales Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients in the telecommunications sector. This role involves prospecting new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, and meeting sales targets through a consultative approach.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts within the assigned territory.
- Build long-term relationships with clients by understanding their telecommunications needs and delivering tailored solutions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all client inquiries and escalations.
Sales Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and field visits.
- Conduct on-site meetings, presentations, and demonstrations of telecommunications products and services.
- Negotiate contracts and close sales deals to meet or exceed individual and team sales targets.
Territory Management
- Develop and execute a territory sales plan to maximize market share and revenue potential.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
- Provide regular updates on sales activities, pipeline status, and forecasts to the Regional Sales Manager.
Product Knowledge and Advocacy
- Stay up-to-date on the latest telecommunications products, technologies, and industry trends.
- Educate clients on product features, benefits, and value propositions.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, technical support) to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Customer Retention and Upselling
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive communication and follow-ups.
- Resolve issues promptly to maintain strong client relationships and minimize churn.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in field sales, account management, or a similar role, preferably within telecommunications.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of telecommunications products and services (e.g., mobile, internet, VoIP, cloud solutions).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust.
- Effective negotiation and closing skills.
- Highly organized with strong time management abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
