Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting for a fantastic Project Manager role, on behalf of a leading manufacturer based in Wakefield.This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong CAPEX project management background, with a sound understanding of process engineering, who is looking for the next step in their career to work in a small but established site based projects team.

As the Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing the functional strategy for projects in collaboration with the leadership team
  • Actively collaborating with the wider team to facilitate improvement opportunities and translating these into capital projects
  • Overseeing all phases of site capital projects from engineering through to construction and commissioning, ensuring projects meet timelines and budget expectations
  • Working closely with the procurement team to select appropriate contractors for project execution while adhering to project scope, budget, safety, and quality standards
  • Identifying internal resource requirements from various teams to ensure resource availability at key project stages
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth management of the project portfolio
  • Managing safety and regulatory requirements, particularly related to process safety and compliance with industry standards
  • Initiating required Process Hazard Analysis according to established procedures and industry best practices
  • Reporting progress clearly and regularly to stakeholders, including financial tracking, milestone progress, and ensuring on-time, on-budget completion
  • Identifying and addressing any deviations that could impact project deliverables
  • Overseeing the handover of completed projects to internal teams, ensuring proper documentation, training, and commissioning
  • Leading and promoting site safety

To be considered for this Project Manager role, you will need:

  • An Engineering or Chemical Engineering degree
  • Knowledge of current HSE and legal requirements for engineering, construction, and chemical operations
  • Proven experience delivering CAPEX projects on time and within budget
  • Experience in leading the commissioning of new plant and equipment
  • Previous experience in an Engineering Management role is an advantage
  • An understanding of industrial engineering and the ability to collaborate with various engineering disciplines
  • Practical knowledge of process automation systems (DCS, FAT, SAT) and related activities
  • Familiarity with best practices in manufacturing and materials management systems
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management is beneficial
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and PC skills, including proficiency with MS Office software
  • The ability to communicate effectively and work autonomously
