My client are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in NEC contract management and project/programme management within the civil engineering sector. This role requires a professional who can lead capital infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery while managing change effectively.
Day-to-day of the role:- Lead on project management of capital infrastructure projects up to a value of £20m.
- Coordinate and improve project delivery across the department, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Produce and manage project-related reports and ensure compliance with Council strategies.
- Chair progress meetings and report on project progress to relevant funding organisations.
- Apply project management methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Evaluate procured services for value for money and quality.
- Provide advice and reports to management, Council Members, and Committees as required.
- Ensure health and safety procedures relevant to the service are applied and communicated.
- Technical qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent level of knowledge.
- Extensive experience in infrastructure/engineering project management.
- Profound understanding of project controls and relevant legislation (e.g., Health & Safety at Work Act, Equality Act, CDM Regulation 2015).
- Strong contract and project management skills.
- Understanding of public sector assurance processes and governance.
- Experience in staff line management.
- Proficiency in keyboarding and site visitation.
- APM or Prince2 qualification (desirable).
- Experience with NEC contract management (desirable).
- Understanding of Procurement procedures and regulations (desirable).
