Elevation Recruitment Group's Skilled Shop Floor Team is delighted to be partnering with a well-established manufacturing business near Wakefield We are currently supporting the business in their search for a skilled Production Machine Operator to join their team.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 7.15am- 4.55pm

Salary: £28,500

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate machinery whilst ensuring that products are manufactured in accordance with Customer requirements and quality standards
  • Identify and correct product quality issues
  • Record production data that ensures full product traceability
  • Ensure that all duties are undertaken in compliance with the company's policies and procedures
  • Deliver achievement of the production plan by ensuring material yield and machine availability is optimised
  • Ensure that a safe work environment exists by adhering to the company health and safety and environment policies and ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation

Role Requirements:

  • Previous experience of setting and operating printing machinery
  • Ensuring the consistent production of high-quality printed products whilst maintaining Quality and optimising Press speeds
  • Maintain a high level of quality, accuracy, and productivity to make sure efficient day to day running of the flexographic printing press
  • Ensure that press speeds are optimised, maximising uptime and minimising downtime. Continually checking on safe and efficient operation
  • Pro-active approach so the print machine always runs smoothly; observe the process and spot any issues that may arise, assess, evaluate root cause and use problem-solving skills to correct and rectify
  • A good understanding of colour and colour mixes
  • Able to understand and follow clear work instructions
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict delivery deadlines
  • Ability to work as a team as well as on own initiative and contribute to the continuous improvement activities
  • Ability to read product drawings
  • Ability to perform effectively in a volume manufacturing industry environment
  • Capable and multi-skilled with a ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to support the business
