Responsibilities of a SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in their learning and personal development.
  • Assist with small group interventions and 1:1 support.
  • Implement strategies to manage and support emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Adapt to different classroom environments and follow school policies.
  • Provide a high standard of support and classroom management.
  • Encourage and support pupils in their learning journey.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and maintain positive relationships.

Requirements SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new environments and lesson plans.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH support (preferred but not essential).
