Job Title: Commercial Maintenance ElectricianLocation: Wakefield, West Yorkshire (various council buildings including leisure centres, town halls, and schools)Salary: £35,500 - £38,000 per year (depending on experience) plus overtime and on-call payContract Type: Full-Time, PermanentWe are seeking an experienced Commercial Maintenance Electrician to join our team servicing a wide range of commercial council buildings across the Wakefield area, including leisure centres, town halls, schools, and more. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified electrician to provide essential maintenance and repairs, ensuring that all systems run efficiently and safely.Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct planned and reactive electrical maintenance across various commercial sites, including inspections, testing, and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations.
  • Perform electrical testing and inspection, including periodic testing and certification.
  • Maintain, repair, and install electrical systems, including lighting, power, fire alarms, and emergency lighting systems.
  • Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and resolve faults efficiently to minimise disruption.
  • Work within health and safety guidelines and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) and City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) are essential.
  • Proven experience in commercial electrical maintenance, ideally within public sector buildings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Full UK driving licence (a van is provided).
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
