Group Accountant

The Role

As Group Accounting Lead, you will oversee the financial operations of the organisation, managing key processes such as month-end close, VAT compliance, statutory audits, and financial reporting. You'll lead a high-performing team while implementing improvements to finance systems, policies, and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a timely and accurate month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, and group VAT compliance.
  • Prepare and submit Group VAT returns, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Support statutory audits, financial statement preparation, and the implementation of accounting policies.
  • Drive improvements in finance systems and procedures to deliver operational efficiencies.
  • Lead and inspire a team, fostering development and delivering exceptional results.
About You

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a minimum of five years' post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience leading finance teams in a complex organisation.
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems, with a strong knowledge of FRS 102.
  • Expertise in preparing and reviewing VAT returns with excellent VAT compliance knowledge.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience within multinational organisations or large not for profit
  • Knowledge of international accounting standards.
