MLK Search is excited to be supporting the UK's leading provider of specialist education to recruit a new Executive Headteacher to take strategic and operational responsibility for multiple sites across Yorkshire. These Independent Specialist Schools offer an alternative curriculum to young people aged between 7 and 18 with a range of special educational needs associated with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges.

Most students have an EHCP and a diagnosis of Autism or ADHD, and a handful of students are referred from the Local Authority Inclusion Service that have been, or are at risk of being, permanently excluded from their mainstream school setting.

About the Role:

The Executive Headteacher plays a lead role in formulating the aims, objectives of the schools within their remit and establishing the policies through which they are to be achieved. You will lead by example, holding and articulating clear values and moral purpose, and focusing on providing excellent education for all pupils. Working closely with the Education Director, you will embed a culture of success, providing direction and line management of the senior leadership teams across your three schools.

As an Executive leader, you will manage staff development programmes and school resources as well as leading on formulating and reviewing the School Development Plan.

Managing safeguarding across the schools is essential with key actions taken to comply with the requirements of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). You will lead regular reviews of all school systems to ensure statutory requirements are being met and improved on where appropriate. This includes leading on Ofsted and the Independent Schools' Standards audits and inspections.
