About the Role:
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Wakefield. This full-time role focuses on supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to engage with their learning and overcome behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 and group support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them manage their emotions and behaviours within the school environment.
Supporting the class teacher and SENCO in delivering tailored interventions and strategies that promote positive learning experiences.
Building strong, positive relationships with students to improve their engagement, emotional wellbeing, and overall development.
Implementing behaviour management techniques and creating a nurturing, safe learning space.
Requirements:

Team Teach qualification is essential (you must have completed the training or be willing to complete it before starting the role).
Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs, particularly those with emotional, behavioural, or mental health challenges.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people.
