Futures recruitment is looking to appoint a Production Engineer for a client of ours based on the outskirts of Wakefield. Our client are known for their development opportunities within and fantastic culture. If you are a Production Engineer with exposure to fabrication and driving continuous improvement strategies on the shop floor, this role could be for you. The ideal Production Engineer will come from a low volume manufacturing background with variation within the product range and have had some exposure to metals and or plastics.

Production Engineer - Role and Responsibilities -

  • Increase OEE and reduce machine downtime. Work with maintenance and advise on TPM/PPM
  • Make improvements to processes and production techniques.
  • Work with production to increase manufacturing efficiency
  • Design Reviews to allow the design of easily manufacturable products
  • Liaise with Lean Engineers. Knowledge of SMED/POKE YOKE techniques

    Production Engineer - Skills and Abilities – 
  • Some lean manufacturing and continuous improvement knowledge
  • Good CAD skills and the ability to design jigs and fixtures
  • HND/Degree qualified in Production or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
  • Knowledge of low volume bespoke manufacturing
