Responsibilities of a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

  • Conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance to ensure production machinery runs smoothly.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical faults and breakdowns.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health & safety regulations.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Working collaboratively with the engineering and production teams to maintain operational efficiency.

Successful Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be:

  • You’re a time-served or apprentice-trained Mechanical Engineer, ideally with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a mechanical discipline.
  • You have hands-on experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • You’re confident in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults across a range of production equipment.
  • You work well in a team and can effectively communicate with colleagues.
  • You have a proactive attitude and are always looking for ways to improve processes and performance
