I am currently looking speak with Chemical Process Engineer to be involved in improvement initiatives in key areas such as process safety, sustainability, reliability, and capital projects for our client in Leeds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective leadership to foster a safety-first culture. Take proactive measures, drive change, and continuously improve Health and Safety, Environmental, and Process Safety functions.
  • Utilize industry best practices to lead Root-Cause-Analysis (RCA) activities for plant performance deviations.
  • Guide and support teams throughout the entire process, from diagnosis through resolution.
  • Oversee process design and specification for process equipment, instrumentation, and control functions. Ensure that technology meets process requirements and is fit for service.
  • Offer technical oversight and input on site Operations procedures.
  • Take ownership of the site’s annual maintenance turnaround, ensuring activities are managed safely and to required standards. Conduct plant pre-start-up checks to guarantee a safe, incident-free restart.

Background

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Safety & Environmental standards, Process Safety Management (PSM), and behavioral-based safety.
  • Experience in an operating chemical manufacturing facility is desirable.
  • Technical knowledge and experience with processes involving hazardous materials (e.g., corrosive, flammable) is beneficial.
  • Membership in a relevant professional organization is preferred; chartership accreditation is desirable.
  • High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and statistical analysis software (e.g., JMP). Experience with process historians (e.g., PI or Aspen) is a plus.
