Cover Supervisor

Pay Scale: £94 to £115 per Day

The Role:

GSL Education's South Yorkshire branch is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a supportive Secondary School in Wakefield. As a vital member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure classroom environment, identifying and addressing any hazards or risks, and responding appropriately in emergency situations.

The successful candidate will:

Manage the classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher.
Ensure that students are engaged in learning activities, maintain discipline, and uphold the school's behavior policies.
Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and materials from the absent teacher, facilitating student engagement through guided activities, answering questions, and providing assistance as required, maintaining a conducive learning environment.
Oversee student work during the lesson, ensuring that students stay on task and complete assigned activities.
Provide support and encouragement to students who require assistance, while also monitoring behavior and managing any disruptions.
Ensure the safety and well-being of students by adhering to health and safety procedures and protocols.

Requirements:

Experience in a similar role with secondary school children or within an educational setting is preferred but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Having relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or a related field is a plus.
Currently residing in the UK.
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service.
Passion for education and student support.
