JHE & Partners are delighted to be working with a highly regarded and successful business in Wakefield as they look to recruit a Payroll Officer on a permanent basis. You will be joining the company at a busy period as they continue to grow. This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours 8:30-4:30 mon-Fri. Flexible working options can be considered (4 days a week, shorter days, term time options).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 2+ years working in Payroll - education sector would be a bonus but not essential
  • Manage a portfolio of customer monthly payroll operations ensuring that each of the payroll process is auctioned in full
  • Ensure staff members are paid correctly
  • Experience in HMRC requirements
  • Produce reports, analysing and interpreting the data
  • Updating payroll systems with up-to-date rates including pay rates, allowance values, pension deductions, NI rates and tax thresholds
  • Processing maternity, paternity and shared parental pay calculations in line with the customer policies and expectations
  • Experience with end-to-end payroll
  • Ability to do manual calculations
  • CIPP desired but not essential

Duties and type of person include:

Working in a small/medium team ensuring all payroll duties are completed. This is a fast-paced role and would require someone from previous payroll experience however, training will be provided if you show the right work ethic and attitude.
