We are seeking a full-time Year 1 Teacher to join a primary school in Wakefield, starting April and continuing until December. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on children's learning and development in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive
- Support pupils' early literacy, numeracy, and social skills development
- Use phonics-based approaches to support reading and writing progress
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and parents to support individual needs
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies accordingly
- Implement effective classroom behaviour management strategies
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching in Year 1 or KS1 (preferred)
- Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics teaching
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- A creative, patient, and nurturing approach to teaching
