Career Teachers is seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, motivated Teaching Assistant to become part of the team at a high performing Primary School in Wakefield WF4. We are looking for someone with a proactive 'can-do' attitude and a passion for doing whatever it takes. You will be supporting a child with ADHD in a mainstream classroom. You will provide tailored assistance to meet the specific needs of the child, ensuring they can focus and complete tasks, implement strategies to help the child manage their behaviour, such as positive reinforcement and structured routines and build a supportive and trusting relationship with the child, promoting self-esteem and confidence.

This role is to start as soon as possible and will run until the end of the academic year.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting pupil's learning and attending to pupil's personal needs in order to support teaching and learning in the classroom and across the school.
  • Supporting the preparation, planning and implementation of individual and group learning activities and intervention programmes across the school.
  • There may also be times when you are required to work with pupils who have additional needs.

It would be advantageous if you:

  • Hold a childcare qualification such as CACHE Level 3
  • Have previous experience working as a classroom Teaching Assistant
  • Have experience working with children with additional needs
