Sewell Wallis are working with a well-established manufacturing business based in Wakefield who are currently looking for an experienced Quality Control Operator to join on a permanent basis.

In this role, you will deal with product safety, any compliance legislation, plus a number of other ad-hoc tasks. The role is extremely varied and would suit a person who is a team player. The company are happy to consider people looking to work 4 days or full-time.

What will you be doing?

  • Ensuring all products meet UK and EU safety standards, including conformity to regulations.
  • Reviewing and interpreting safety standards, regulations, and product documentation to ensure compliance with UK/EU legislation.
  • Maintaining and updating compliance records for all products, ensuring documentation is complete and up-to-date (e.g., safety assessments, CE/UKCA markings, test reports, and certificates of conformity).
  • Prepare product safety reports and liaise with manufacturers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Conducting internal audits and inspections.
  • Investigating safety incidents or product recalls, if applicable, and preparing reports for regulatory bodies when necessary.

What skills are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in a quality control role, ideally within manufacturing.
  • Prior experience in compliance, quality assurance, or safety management
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills.
