Engineering Stores Person

Location: Commutable from Pontefract, Wakefield, Barnsley

Hours: 39 hours per week on days

Reporting to: Engineering Manager

Salary: £38,049

Pension: Group pension plan, 4% contribution, matched up to 10%

Bonus: Up to 5% per annum, paid quarterly

Holidays: 25 days per annum, plus 8 bank holidays

ATAare working with a great multi-site organisation who specialise I their field of manufacturing due to their growth and expansion they’re looking for an engineering stores person to join their team.  

About the role 

As an engineering stores person, your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Engineering Stores administration
  • The day to day management of the Engineering Stores and assist with maintenance administration of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system (Shire or similar)
  • The development and improvement of Stores organisation and inventory control. Develop control parameters for the Factory based Stores locations
  • To provide an effective Stores service to the Engineering Department, to control the purchasing of all materials and to ensure financial administrative procedures are followed
  • Preparation of spares lists and part kits required for maintenance activity.
  • To follow Company preferred supplier base
  • To control and monitor a perpetual Stores inventory system
  • Liaise with the Works Office as and when required
  • Support & Compliance – Assist the maintenance team with stock queries, support financial audits, and help with plant shutdowns. 

About you 

To be considered for the engineering stores person role you should have the following: 

•             Work experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing environment.

•             Knowledge of Mechanical and electrical components.

•             Ability to use basic hand tools.

•             Previous experience managing an Engineering Stores System – stock control, computer based, and or operation of a computer based Maintenance PPM system.(e.g. Shire front line)
