Category/Purchasing Assistant

Wakefield - Hybrid working

  • Assist in managing supplier relationships and ensuring the quality and availability of materials.
  • Support the procurement team with purchasing processes and documentation.
  • Establish a effective core range
  • Work with the marketing team, to assist with marketing strategies
  • Ensure product information is correct - Ecommerce
  • Work with merchandising, Marketing and purchasing colleagues
  • Analyze purchasing data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand material requirements and timelines.
  • Help streamline purchasing processes to improve efficiency across the organization.
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, and inventory levels.
  • Participate in negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
  • Experience in purchasing and supply chain management
  • Knowledge of Category management
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • A proactive and positive attitude towards problem-solving and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and build strong working relationships.
  • Competence in using procurement or supply chain management software is a plus.
