Salary: £35,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience)


Overview:

On behalf of our client, a leading brickwork and stonemasonry subcontractor based in Wakefield, we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor. The company specializes in delivering exceptional masonry solutions on a range of construction projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with brickwork experience to join a growing team and contribute to the success of high-quality construction projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage cost estimates and budgets for brickwork and stonemasonry packages
  • Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for best value pricing
  • Prepare and submit tender documentation
  • Measure and value variations, ensuring financial tracking throughout the project
  • Provide cost advice and financial forecasts to the project team
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular financial reports
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure cost control measures
  • Assist in resolving any contractual or financial disputes
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects within budget



Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the brickwork or stonemasonry sector is essential
  • Strong understanding of masonry materials, construction methods, and associated costs
  • Excellent knowledge of quantity surveying techniques, including estimating, cost management, and valuation
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in relevant software (e.g., MS Office, estimating tools)
