Unite People is working with an established, privately owned civil engineering contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to work with their commercial team on a full-time, salary basis from Wakefield, West Yorkshire office premises

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor, to join an expanding business, in a region with a strong pipeline of work. You will be working with a privately owned company that has long standing relationships with key clients. If you are currently in a slower paced, one project role, supporting a commercial lead or a contractor overseeing a few smaller projects concurrently. This opportunity, will give you the platform to have ownership of schemes independently and provide the platform to progress your career to Senior Quantity Surveyor and Managing Surveyor. With the support of your Commercial Manager.

The successful candidate will be working with an established group of clients with an impressive order book already going forward into 2025 and 2026. With company profitability expected to continual increase

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining commercial controls on projects
  • Monthly reporting
  • Cost to complete
  • Manage sub-contractor accounts
  • Pricing and agreeing change
  • Issuing of payment certificates
  • Close liaison and collaborative team-work with the project teams
  • JCT or NEC contract experience

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A relevant qualification is preferred but not essential
  • Demonstrable working knowledge as a Quantity Surveyor
