ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Prospero Teaching is looking for a Geography Teacher for an Ofsted "Good" Secondary school in Wakefiled, West Yorkshire.

The position is open to both NQT's and experienced teachers. Depending on the candidates CV the school would look at either moving the start date of the contract forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging Geography lessons for KS3 & KS4 students in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students reach their full potential.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the Geography curriculum, ensuring lessons are dynamic, inclusive, and reflective of contemporary global issues.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, establishing a positive and respectful classroom culture.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Humanities department to share best practices and participate in extra-curricular activities such as field trips and geography-related clubs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider school community, providing regular updates on student progress.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
