Geography Teacher - Part-Time (4 days a week)

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Start Date:ASAP, from 21st October until December 2024

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Geography Teacher to join our vibrant school community in Wakefield.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress to ensure attainment targets are met or exceeded.
  • Create a supportive learning environment that encourages positive student behaviour and participation.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to enhance the Geography curriculum and departmental initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement and participate in parents' evenings and school events as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting high school students in their academic and personal development.
  • Ability to differentiate teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Commitment to promoting the importance of Geography in preparing students for future studies and careers.
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or PGCE in Geography or a relevant subject.
  • Experience teaching Geography at the secondary level is preferred but not essential for exceptional candidates.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to fostering student engagement and achievement.
  • A passion for Geography and a desire to bring the subject to life for students.
