NextGen Teachers are currently working with a Specialist Provision located in Wakefield / Pontefract who are seeking to recruit full-time Social and Emotional Mental Health Teacher to support there pupils with SEMH needs starting as soon as possible in January 2025.

This Specialist SEMH School in Wakefield (WF7) caters for pupils aged 9-16 years of age who have Social and Emotional Mental Health needs and who are working on a Primary based curriculum.

We're seeking a candidate who is passionate about making a difference to pupils lives who have SEMH needs and have the experience / knowledge to deal with pupils who are at risk of crisis.

The role of an SEMH Support Assistant in this school will be to:

  • Support and teach pupils in the classroom on a day to day basis.
  • Working with multiple pupils and supporting students with 1-2-1 support and Intervention.
  • Support pupils with their holistic development in line with there Educational Health Care Plans.
  • Supporting and managing the behaviour of the students.
