High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: WF2

Daily rate £90-£110

We are currently looking to appoint a Higher-Level Teaching assistant to work at a diverse primary school in Wakefield. The successful individual must be confident managing challenging behaviour if it arises.

The successful HLTA must be confident manging challenging behaviour and will be expected to help maintain the high educational standards set by both the students and the teaching staff. This may involve working with students to meet learning objectives, assisting in assessments, and helping to create a positive and productive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support across both Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) classrooms.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Implement strategies to support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of child development and learning theories.
  • Relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake relevant training.
